WE ARE
The Well Birth Project is a grassroots, community-based initiative — created by women, for women. Our mission is simple but powerful: to discover and share what works well in birth for the next generation of birthing women.
We are a small group of passionate birth educators, mothers, and advocates who care deeply about how women experience birth across Australia.
We believe that within the birth experiences of hundreds of thousands of Australian women lies a common thread — a vital, overlooked key that offers something bright and new: real hope for the future of birth in this country.
We exist to shine a light on the practical techniques, inner resources, and proven approaches that Australian women have used to bring their babies into the world — approaches that they believe either made ALL the difference to their birth experience or contributed at least in part to a positive birth experience.
Many of us know how hard it can be to navigate a complex and often overstretched medical system. And yet, there are women — quietly, across this country — who have birthed with confidence, with agency, and with power. These women know that their experience wasn’t just good luck or perfect circumstances. They know that it was greatly assisted by their preparation, ideas and skills that they brought into the birth space.
We believe those stories matter.
We believe these stories must be heard.
And we believe the power to change birth lies in something simple, but profound: women coming together and connecting the dots.
Story by story. Voice by voice.
That’s what we’re here to do
